BlueCHP SDA team representatives were delighted to present Aaron with his brand-new Forever Home in December. The milestone was particularly meaningful, with the handover and subsequent move coinciding with the festive season. Aaron was overjoyed with his customised High Physical Support home, giving him the gift of independence and comfort while being close to his family and carers. For Aaron and his family, this was certainly a Christmas wish come true!
Located in a remote area of South Australia, the specialist disability home will allow Aaron to stay in his preferred location while enjoying the comfort of a space tailored to his needs. Designed collaboratively with Aaron, the home reflects a commitment to individual requirements, accessibility, and functionality.
This purpose-built home demonstrates the importance of community-focused housing solutions for people with disabilities. The BlueCHP SDA and development teams, who worked closely with Aaron and his support network throughout the design and construction phases, expressed their joy in witnessing him move into his home in time for the holidays. BlueCHP Senior SDA Housing Specialist Wendy Tallon was on hand to present Aaron with the keys, saying, “We’re thrilled to provide this SDA home in Naracoorte, offering the opportunity for individuals to live close to their families and support networks. It’s incredibly rewarding to see how this housing option allows people to remain part of their local community while having the care they need”.
The handover is a testament to BlueCHP’s ongoing dedication to providing accessible housing where it is needed the most. By addressing Aaron’s unique needs, this home exemplifies inclusivity and independence, ensuring he can live with dignity and comfort.
